This page explains how we create, test and update the tools, guides and articles on PAYATE PDF Tools (pdf.payate.com).
Our standards
- Tested, not guessed. Every tool is tested on real PDF files from different sources (office software, scanners, phones and web browsers) before it is published and after every update.
- Honest about limits. Each tool page explains what the tool does and what it cannot do - for example, that compressed pages become images, or that scanned PDFs contain no text to extract.
- Plain language. Guides are written for everyday users, with step-by-step instructions and answers to real questions.
- Privacy first. We only publish tools that can work on your own device without uploading your files.
How articles are written
Articles are written and reviewed by the PAYATE editorial team. We check instructions against current versions of popular software and browsers, link to official documentation where it helps, and note the date an article was last updated.
Independence and advertising
The site is funded by Google AdSense advertising. Advertisers have no influence over our tools or content, and ads are placed separately from tool buttons so they are not confused with downloads. We do not accept payment to recommend products. Any sponsored content would be clearly labeled.
Corrections
If you find an error in a guide, or a tool gives a wrong result, please tell us on our contact page with the page link and a short description. We review every report, fix confirmed mistakes promptly and update the page date.
